About Shaelyn (she/her)
I believe connection is the cornerstone of therapy, and I'm here to guide you in creating meaningful connections that can transform your life.
I help individuals and couples understand their emotions, communicate more effectively, and build healthier, more connected relationships. In our work together, you’ll identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen your sense of self-worth, and navigate life transitions, relational stress, and emotional challenges with greater clarity and confidence. My approach is warm, empathetic, and direct. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can grow, heal, and create meaningful change.
I affirm and welcome all relationship structures and identities, including monogamous, non-monogamous, LGBTQIA+, and gender-expansive relationships. My goal is to create a space where every relationship dynamic is respected, explored, and supported.
I have a particular passion for working with Intercultural Couples, guiding partners from diverse cultural backgrounds through the unique challenges and opportunities that arise in their relationships. Together, we work to:
Resolve cultural conflicts with empathy and understanding
Navigate family dynamics shaped by traditions and expectations
Address religious or spiritual differences that impact the relationship
Overcome communication barriers influenced by language or cultural styles
Align on shared goals while honoring individual identities
Build intimacy and connection as a unified team
I am a humanistic therapist grounded in attachment theory and integrate modalities including Satir’s Human Growth Model, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
