Child & Teen Therapy in Arvada, CO
Children and teenagers do not always have the words to explain what they are experiencing. Anxiety, anger, withdrawal, changes in behavior, school struggles, or difficulty connecting with others can sometimes be ways of communicating that something feels hard, overwhelming, or different.
At Life Reimagined Therapy Group, our child and teen therapists create a supportive, developmentally appropriate space where young people can feel understood and build skills for navigating emotions, relationships, and everyday challenges. We also work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, recognizing that meaningful change often happens when children feel supported both in and outside of therapy.
Using relational, experiential, and play-based approaches, we meet children and teens where they are and help them build greater emotional awareness, confidence, and connection.

Our Approach to Child & Teen Therapy
At Life Reimagined Therapy Group, we recognize that children and teens are developing within a network of relationships, environments, and experiences. Their emotional well-being can be shaped by family relationships, friendships, school, transitions, and the ways they have learned to understand and respond to the world around them.
Our therapists tailor therapy to each child’s developmental stage, personality, needs, and goals. For younger children, therapy may involve play, creativity, movement, and other developmentally appropriate ways of expressing emotions. With teens, therapy my include conversation-based work, experiential activities, emotional processing, and practical skill-building.
-
Play can be a child's natural language. Child-Centered Play Therapy gives younger children opportunities to express emotions, process experiences, and develop greater self-understanding through play in a supportive therapeutic environment.
-
Attachment-based approaches help children, teens, and caregivers understand the importance of safety, connection, and emotional responsiveness in relationships. This can support stronger parent-child relationships and help young people feel more secure and understood.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy helps young people identify strengths, notice what is already working, and build practical steps toward the changes they want to make. This can be especially helpful for children and teens who benefit from concrete, collaborative goals.
-
Sometimes a child's struggles are closely connected to what is happening within their relationships or family. When appropriate, therapy may include parents, caregivers, or family members to support communication, emotional connection, and healthier patterns at home.
Our therapists may integrate additional approaches depending on your child's age, needs, goals, and the therapist you work with.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
This is very common. Many children might feel unsure, hesitant, or resistant at first. We approach therapy in a way that optimizes trust, safety, and connection, allowing children and teens to engage at their own pace. Over time, many young clients begin to experience therapy as a supportive space where they feel understood rather than judged or pressured.
-
Parents and caregivers play an essential role in the therapeutic process. While children and teens may have individual sessions, we regularly collaborate with caregivers to better understand what is happening at home and how to support meaningful change within the family system.
We also provide parent coaching and caregiver support to help adults better understand emotional needs, respond to challenging behaviors, and strengthen connection at home. In some cases, we may also include family sessions to support communication and relational repair.
-
We offer online therapy throughout Colorado, although whether telehealth is appropriate depends on your child's age, developmental needs, circumstances, and the therapist you work with. During your consultation, we can discuss whether in-person or online therapy would be the best fit for your child.
-
Yes. We are in-network with Cigna, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare for child and teen therapy in Colorado. Coverage can vary depending on your child's specific plan, benefits, and deductible, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm coverage for mental health services. If you are using out-of-network benefits, we can also provide a superbill for potential reimbursement.
